Women Psychologists

The Women's Intellectual Contributions to the Study of Mind and Society contains the biographies and theories of many women psychologists, including Jean Baker Miller and Carol Gilligan. (These were written by students as part of an advanced seminar.)

Jean Baker Miller Training Institute (JBMTI): The home of Jean Baker Miller's relational-cultural theory (RCT), this web site is worth exploring. The JBMTI video archive can be found here, a six part roundtable discussion can be found on YouTube here.

An explanation of Carol Gilligan's theory of Moral Development can be found here. (This is obviously intended for the author's students.) Bigthink has a set of videos featuring Carol Gilligan; there is also a brief biography of Gilligan on this page. YouTube videos featuring Carol and James Gilligan can found here.

An article in pdf format on Intersections of Feminist and Transpersonal Thought and Potential Contributions to Social Change can be downloaded by clicking here. This contains a section on Peggy Wright's paper "Bringing Women's Voices to Transpersonal Theory."

 

 

Arnold Mindell & Eugene Gendlin

Amy & Arnold Mindell's Website- There is a lot of information on this website, which can be accessed using the menu on the left hand side. In particular, the links in the 'Process Work' and 'Publications' sections are worth exploring.

The International Association of Process Oriented Psychology (IAPOP) - This site has more information about process work, including links to most of Mindell's YouTube videos here.

World Work Audio Clips & Documents - Written synopses and audio files of short presentations and reflections of Worldwork facilitators (including the Mindells) from the Worldwork conference in London in 2008.

Gendlin's "Focusing" Website - Lots of information about Gendlin's theories, etc. on this website - see especially The Gendlin Library

Gendlin Introduces Focusing (video) - Part 1 of excerpts from a presentation introducing Focusing, shot in Toronto in 2000 in Toronto. Part 2 is also available on YouTube, as are other Gendlin videos.

 

Stanislav Grof

Grof's Website - From the menu on the left hand side of this page you can find many of Grof's articles, interviews, videos, etc. In the interview section, the "Angela Winter" interview is especially recommended.

Association for Holotropic Breathwork International - The online community resource center for Holotropic Breathwork - the Research section contains more articles, information about research, etc.

Grof Transpersonal Training - Information about Holotropic Breathwork training, workshops, etc. There are also some interesting links in the "Contact GTT" section.

Grof Transpersonal Training in Spain - Click on "See Interview" under "Interview with Stan Grof" to access seven videos of a Grof interview recorded in Spain in 2010.

"Thinking Allowed" Grof Videos - Excerpts of Grof videos from "Thinking Allowed", a long-running public television series from the US. There is also an interview with Christina Grof here. (There are lots of other interesting videos on this site - a list can be found here.)

Video: Psychology of the Future - A lecture by Stanislav Grof on the "Psychology of the Future" (from 2009), lasting a little over an hour. There are also many more Grof videos on YouTube.
