2010 - 2011 PROSPECTUS

Introduction:

This Prospectus describes the activities of the U3A Costa del Sol which all English-speaking adults of any nationality may join.

Membership fee for the full year October 2010 to May 2010 is €25 .
Membership fee for half year from January 2011 to May 2010 is €15.

Fees can only be paid in cash, we are unable to accept credit/debit cards or cheques. The fee entitles all members to participate in as many groups as they wish (subject to availability) and to attend all the monthly lectures.

Term Dates

Autumn - Monday, 11th October to Friday, 17th December
Spring - Monday, 10th January to Friday, 27th May

Lux Mundi is closed for local and national holidays and Semana Santa (18th – 4th April) and also in the afternoon during Christian Unity week in January (details to be advised). Groups held outside Lux Mundi may continue during this period, the Group Leader will advise you on this.

Membership Registration:

28th, 30th September and 1stOctober

The Information Desk will be open at the Ark Christian Fellowship Hall, Las Rampas, Fuengirola, on the days shown above between 11.00 and 13.00 hours each day. Members who register during this period will be able to go straight to the Ticket Desk on Enrolment Day. The Coffee Shop will be open on these days.

If you have not registered during this period the Registration Desk will be open on Enrolment Day.

Download your Membership Application Form here (to be added). Print it out, fill it in and bring it along to one of the above dates, or Group Enrolment on October 4th.

You must have a membership card before being issued with a ticket for enrolment.

Members can register for friends, but can only enrol in study groups individually

When selecting your course, please consider carefully your likely commitment in both time and effort before enrolling, particularly in courses demanding a full year’s study. If you are unable to continue a course for any reason, please advise the Group Leader promptly so that others may enrol. If you are absent for more than two sessions without notifying the Group Leader you will be deemed to have left the Group.

Group Enrolment

Enrolment will be on Monday 4th October between 16:00 and 17:30 at the Ark Christian Fellowship Hall, Las Rampas, Fuengirola.

Enrolment is on a first come, first served basis. Please ensure that you bring your Membership Card with you if you have previously registered. On arrival, collect a numbered ticket from the Ticket Desk, this will allow you access to the Enrolment Hall later.

The Membership Registration desk will open at 14:30 for those people who have not already registered and the Ticket Desk will open at 15:00 You must have a valid Membership Card before you can enrol.

The Enrolment Hall will open at 16:00 when the allocated numbers will be allowed entry into the hall in small groups. Members will only be allowed to enrol themselves and will not be able to enrol their friends or family. If you are unable to register by 4th October you will be able to register at the weekly U3A Information desk.

A few courses do not start until January 2010. Enrolment for these will take place on Friday, 7th January 2010

We are not able to process Membership Applications online at the moment but you can download Membership Application forms here (coming soon) and bring them to one of the Registration days or the Friday morning Information Desk to pay and finalize your membership.

The Information Desk is open on Fridays between 11.00 and 13.00 at the Ark Christian Fellowship Hall in Las Rampas from 8th October to 18th December 2010, reopening 7th January 2011.

Those who were unable to register at the start of term may do so here.

We also maintain a noticeboard in Lux Mundi Reception (C/Nueva) with items of interest to our members, including weekly news, a copy of this prospectus and forthcoming Monthly Lectures. (Please do not ask Lux Mundi staff on U3A matters).
