Lux Mundi

U3A Costa del Sol is not affiliated to Lux Mundi but we are very grateful for their provision of accommodation. Along with their religious services they also provide activities and events that may be of interest to our members.

Lux Mundi has Wheelchairs, Walkers and Crutches for hire. For details including costs please contact them directly on Tel: 952 47 48 40

They also run an English Library. For an annual membership fee of 5€ they have thousands of books for loan, hundreds for sale at 3 for a euro and dozens to give away. Opening hours are, at the moment, Tues. and Thurs,. 10 to 12, and the coffee shop is open, a nice place to relax for an hour, have a drink and choose a book.

Friday 17th - Craft Exhibition in Lux Mundi at 10.00 to 6.00
Saturday 18th - Craft Exhibition In Lux Mundi at 10.00 to 2.00pm

This years Craft Exhibition (Handmade crafts by local talent) is bigger than last years. We will have many more exhibits and think you will find it very interesting. There will also be drinks and tapas available on the day.

Tuesday 21st - Shrove Tuesday PANCAKES Coffee Morning 10.00 to 12.00 Come with someone and enjoy a pancake with your coffee for only €2.00.

Thursday 23rd - "Rollercoaster Economics" A talk will be given by Sheila Knight on the state of the present economy. 17.00 to 18.30 in Lux Mundi. DONATION of €1.00.

Friday 24th - Trip to "Montilla" (Cordoba). A visit to Perez Barquero winery. Tasting 5 super premium wines and small aperitif. In the afternoon we will stop for coffee in Antequera. Price €18.00 (includes insurance, transport, entrance ticket to the bodega and tasting of different wines. Guide in English and French). Lunch not included. Departure from Bull Ring or Recinto Ferial at 8.30am. Departure from Antequera approx 18.00pm

Distribute Soup to the Poor

Lux Mundi is organizing with the help of all friends, volunteers and benefactors a project to distribute soup for the poor and homeless in the area every Friday from 1-3pm from November 2011 to Easter 2012.

LUX MUNDI – ECUMENICAL CENTRE

LUX MUNDI was opened in 1973, since then it has grown into a Centre providing a friendly, caring environment for visitors and holidaymakers from several countries with the aim of responding to their needs.

If you need practical help we have for hire wheelchairs, crutches, sticks and walkers all at reasonable rates available for short or long-term periods

Every Tuesday and Thursday mornings the Centre has an extensive lending Library with English books. Membership is open to all. A Boutique with nearly new clothes is also open. And at the same time why not enjoy a cup of coffee with us at the Coffee Morning. Bric a Brac’s are held every fortnight on Thursday mornings.

Trips and Talks are organized regularly.

Religious Services are held in our Chapel and everyone is welcome to attend. The Roman Catholic Mass, in English, is celebrated every Sunday at 12 noon and The Church of Scotland [Presbyterian] holds a service every Sunday at 10.30am.
